INTERVIEWER |
SIGURD |
|
How long have you attended St Andrew's? |
20 years |
|
What do you do? |
I'm a Family
Therapist |
|
What church activities are you involved in? |
I am Appointed
Person for Child Protection at St. Andrew's. I'm also involved
in Traidcraft,
Christian Aid, intercessions (prayers), and the music group. |
|
What are your five favourite things? |
Travelling by
train; a glass of wine on the terrace in company; walking a
footpath; staying on a quiet campsite |
|
Can you describe a book you read recently in one sentence? |
Orhan Pamuk's
"Istanbul" - a wonderfully nostalgic autobiography and a
biography of a city |
|
What is your favourite television programme? |
Nothing really,
but I love Radio 4 |
|
If you could have lunch with two well known people, who would
you invite? |
John Peel and
Nelson Mandella |
|
What is one of the most important things you have learned in
life so far? |
Trying to keep
life simple |
|
Why is your Christian faith important to you? |
Faith comes and
goes. Christian churches are accessible places to retreat to in
order to think and feel - and meet strange people |
|
How does your faith affect the way in which you live your life
day to day? |
Helps to give a
baseline to the crazy, often meaningless things in life |
|
What is special about St. Andrew's for you? |
I meet so many
people I wouldn't otherwise come across |
|
If you could say one thing to someone thinking of coming to St.
Andrew's for the first time, what would it be? |
It's a time for
a bit of companionship with people who are trying to make sense
of life |
