INTERVIEWER

PAUL

How long have you attended St Andrew's? 37 years
What do you do? Retired Civil Servant (Hydrographic)
What church activities are you involved in? Sacristan, Choir member, P.C.C. member, Diocesan Synod representative
What are your five favourite things? Porridge; the flight of swifts; rain after drought; silence; St. David's (Pembs.)
What is your favourite television programme? Almost any wildlife programme
If you could have lunch with two well known people, who would you invite? Dante and Prof. Penrose
What is one of the most important things you have learned in life so far? A smile is usually returned
Why is your Christian faith important to you? Because it puts me in touch with Jesus Christ, without whom I could not believe in a god.  With him and his church, I can know myself to be loved, understood, and forgiven my failures and disbeliefs; and am set free to enjoy all God's gifts and trust him to make all things good.
How does your faith affect the way in which you live your life day to day? It makes it easier for me to see other people as God's children, and therefore my brothers and sisters.  It encourages me to persevere with work that I believe to be worthwhile.  It (surprisingly often) renews my ageing heart with praise and wonder.
What is special about St. Andrew's for you? I've been coming too long to be able to say, but particularly appreciate St. Andrew's when I return from time away from this, my home church.
