A letter from our new Churchwarden

28 May 2006

Following the visitation by the Archdeacon on 10 May I am now officially your Churchwarden here at St. Andrew's for the next three years.  It is a considerable privilege to be able to take up this post and I am grateful to Jean and Stephen who have given me such insight into what the role entails. I do ask for your prayers and forbearance, for I will undoubtedly make many mistakes in the coming months, however, I can promise you that I will carry out my duties to the very best of my ability, and with my usual enthusiasm and exuberance, but with a humility befitting my service to you all and to God.

The church and family of St. Andrew's here in Rowbarton has given me so much support and love during the past 30 years that I have been worshipping here, that I can only hope to repay, in some small part all that this church means to me.
