INTERVIEWER |
KATHARINE |
|
How long have you attended St Andrew's? |
20 years (on
and off) |
|
What do you do? |
I'm a part time
Administrator, and freelance writer |
|
What church activities are you involved in? |
I'm a Reader so
I preach, and lead services and prayers |
|
What are your five favourite things? |
Sharing a meal
with good friends; Venice; a walk on the beach; Big Cats;
chocolate! |
|
Can you describe a book you read recently in one sentence? |
"Doctored
Evidence" by Donna Leon - a good detective story with believable
and lovable characters - well written with humour and set in
Venice - perfect! |
|
What is your favourite television programme? |
The West Wing |
|
If you could have lunch with two well known people, who would you
invite? |
I'd really like
to invite all the actors from The West Wing but if I have to
limit it to two they would be Martin Sheen (who plays President
Jed Bartlet) and Richard Schiff (his Director of Communications,
Toby Ziegler). I'd love to hear their stories about
working on the series. |
|
What is one of the most important things you have learned in
life so far? |
That we can't
judge others because we don't know how the world looks through
their eyes - just wish I could live up to that! |
|
Why is your Christian faith important to you? |
It reaches
parts of me nothing else can reach. It gives hope, meaning and
purpose to my life and I don't know how I could cope without it |
|
How does your faith affect the way in which you live your life
day to day? |
It can be a
struggle trying to work out how to live my faith at work, with
friends and family and in a world that can seem scary and
uncertain. It's not an easy option but I think my faith
gives me a light in which to hold and look at all aspects of my
life |
|
What is special about St. Andrew's for you? |
Our "style" of
worship with a rich and varied liturgy and different sorts of
music. The way everyone who comes is accepted and finds a place
for themselves. The lack of pressure to think and believe
in the same way as others |
|
If you could say one thing to someone thinking of coming to St.
Andrew's for the first time, what would it be? |
Come and join
in with people who don't claim to have all the answers, or to be
perfect but who are on a journey of exploration, and welcome
fellow travellers |
