INTERVIEWER |
JUNE |
|
How long have you attended St Andrew's? |
I have attended
St. Andrew's for 26 years |
|
What do you do? |
My profession
is a Company Director within an electrical contracting company |
|
What church activities are you involved in? |
I'm a
Churchwarden. |
|
What are your five favourite things? |
Soaking up the
sun on a tropical beach; solitary walking on the Taunton to
Bridgwater Canal; entertaining and languishing over dinner with
good friends enjoying fine red wine and food; clothes shopping
(surprise surprise!); blackberry picking |
|
Can you describe a book you read recently in one sentence? |
"Cross Bones"
by Kathy Reichs - another superb thriller by Reichs about
forensic anthropologist Tempe Brennan - love these books |
|
What is your favourite television programme? |
Hard Talk BBC1,
4am - it helps with my insomnia, followed closely by Songs of
Praise |
|
If you could have lunch with two well known people, who would you
invite? |
Princess Diana
(because she was such a style icon) and Nelson Mandela (he's
pretty much my hero) |
|
What is one of the most important things you have learned in
life so far? |
Never take life
for granted, just when you think it is running smoothly it has
an uncanny knack of going pear shaped |
|
Why is your Christian faith important to you? |
It is totally
important to me, as it is the one constant, consistent,
unchanging part of my life. I know God's love is unconditional,
he loves me for who I am, not what I am |
|
How does your faith affect the way in which you live your life
day to day? |
I try, in the
secular business working environment of which I am very much a
part, to treat all people with respect and an overruling sense
of Christian caring, whether rich or poor, young or old, white
or coloured |
|
What is special about St. Andrew's for you? |
As soon as I
walk through the door I really feel the presence of the Lord
here and think it has a very spiritual feel - and of course the
wonderful people of our church are my extended family |
|
If you could say one thing to someone thinking of coming to St.
Andrew's for the first time, what would it be? |
Our church is a
very friendly welcoming one and you will be made to feel part of
our St. Andrew's family immediately. We have a rich and
varied pattern of worship, something to suit everyone. |
