Stained glass in St. Andrew's:

The Virgin Mary

There are two stained glass windows in Church which depict incidents in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary over the whole window, one in the Sanctuary and the other in the Lady Chapel.

The Sanctuary window, which is to the south of the High Altar represents the Annunciation, with the Angel Gabriel carrying a lily, the symbol of purity...

... and standing behind the Virgin Mary who is kneeling. It also includes the famous prophecy from Isaiah: 'Behold a Virgin shall conceive and bear a son'.
