Farewell to Jonathan, Beatrice and family
2 April 2006
Palm Sunday
is Jonathan's last day as Curate at St. Andrew's. All of us
will be really sorry to say goodbye to Jonathan,
Beatrice and the boys, but we always knew that as a
training curate Jonathan was a bird of passage.
Jonathan
and Beatrice have brought us many gifts. Jonathan
a wide experience of life and passion for social
justice, Beatrice her artistic gifts displayed in
stunning Easter gardens; Jonathan's gift for getting
alongside people and engendering trust, Beatrice's
gentle concern and care; Jonathan's questioning and
challenging of the accepted, Beatrice's calm serenity.
As well as Jonathan's considerable gifts for pastoral
care and preaching, his good humour and encouragement,
we shall miss seeing his bicycle secured outside the
church, and hearing the tales of his allotment.
All of us have
had our lives enriched by the presence of
Reuben, Joshua and James in our church community, and no
doubt Head Server Martyn will especially miss the
assistance of his 'number one man' Reuben after
services.
The
parishes of Misterton, Haselbury Plucknett and North
Perrott are blessed to have Jonathan as their new Priest
in Charge, and all of us at St. Andrew's will be will be
praying for the family as they move to a new home, new
work and new school.
Our 10am
all age service on Palm Sunday will be followed by
refreshments, and a chance for members of the
congregation to wish Jonathan, Beatrice and the boys
well.
Jonathan
will be licensed at a Communion service in Crewkerne
Parish Church at 11am on 14 May. There will be no
10am Parish Communion at St. Andrew's and we will be
arranging a coach for those who wish to attend.
Thank you
Jonathan, Beatrice, Reuben, Joshua and James for being a
part of our lives over the past 4 years.
