Commissioning service for our new Headteacher

Sunday 11 March 2007, 10am in church

This is a reminder to say the commissioning of the Headteacher at St Andrew's C.E. Primary School, Mr Paul Sheehan, will form part of the normal Family Service on 11th March at 10 a.m.  This is when Paul will be introduced to the Community.  The Diocese introduced the Commissioning Service for Headteachers to church schools in 2001,  so this is the first for St Andrew's.   In the service the parents, pupils, Governors, staff, and congregation all pledge their support for the new Headteacher.

Paul Sheehan will have his family and friends with him, and Mr Mike Tedstone will be representing the Diocese of Bath & Wells.

In addition to our church choir and Voices Raised, the school choir and musicians will be taking part, and the uniformed organisations will be present.

Finally, refreshments will be available after the service, so please attend this important service and, hopefully the church will be as full as it was for the Community Carol Service.

A message from our new Head Teacher, Paul Sheehan

Welcome to St. Andrew's CE VC Primary School. We are proud of the Christian aims and values on which our school is based. The Governors, Staff, Parents and Children work closely together to make our school a happy, secure and purposeful environment for us all.

At our school we aim to provide the best education we can for each child.

This education will develop their academic, artistic and creative, physical, and personal skills. All the adults involved in the school work together to create an ethos which will give the children the best opportunities to develop spiritually, morally and culturally. We believe that it is important that this is supported by a close working relationship between home and school. You will find outlined in this prospectus a number of ways that we can work together to ensure the best for your child. We have an 'open door' policy at St. Andrew's. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's education or life at school please come and talk to the class teacher or myself.

Education during the last ten years has undergone many changes and will continue to do so. Much thought and care has gone into providing the most appropriate curriculum and experiences that will enable your child to do their best. This care will continue throughout your child's time at St Andrew's, providing them with the best educational standards.

We look forward to welcoming you as a family to St. Andrew's School, and to us getting to know each other well during our years together.

Yours sincerely

Paul Sheehan

Headteacher
